    Hi Susie,

    I found journaling helped but when I didn’t think of it like journaling!! I couldn’t cope with the strictness that journaling implies. Over the years I have written down my thoughts when I’ve thought of it or had the time. Generally I wrote down thoughts I didn’t understand or things I was anxious other people wouldn’t understand. Reading it back over was also a help to me as I could distance myself a bit from it & imagine it was someone else talking to me & how I would feel about them (much better than I was thinking about myself). It also helped when I was then in a good period to look over it & see how far I’d come.
